Bane, a loyal K9 officer with the Fort Walton Beach Police Department in Florida, has spent the past five years serving his community. From fighting crime to community outreach, this hardworking dog has left a lasting impact on the department and the city.

“[He’s] one of our goodest boys,” a police spokesperson shared with The Dodo.
Last week, Bane officially retired with a heartfelt ceremony. Officer Trujillo, Bane’s handler and partner, celebrated the occasion with a small gathering and some delicious food.

The emotional moment came when Bane was formally signed off duty over the radio, marking the end of his career. While he won’t be patrolling the streets anymore, Bane’s legacy will not be forgotten.
The next chapter of Bane’s life begins at home with Officer Trujillo. No longer a police officer, Bane will now enjoy his well-deserved retirement as a beloved companion and loyal friend.

“Thank you for keeping our city and officers safe during your dedicated years of service,” the police spokesperson said. “Enjoy your retirement, Bane. You’ve earned it!”
