These pictures are from the maternity shoot of a couple, Amanda Eckstein and her husband, from Indiana. The photographer who captured these fun moments is Kristen Zaffiro from Cincinnati.
The couple wanted to make this shoot even more special by sharing the frame with their horses, as they treat these animals like family. However, this requirement made the shoot a bit challenging for Kristen because getting the horses into the frame in the correct position was difficult. They would look in different directions instead of at the camera, just when the photo was about to be taken.
At last, before they give up on the idea of including horses in the shoot, one of the horses, called Buckshot, turned towards the camera. The next challenge was getting him to have a pleasant facial expression. That’s when the magic happened, surprising everyone.
Buckshot couldn’t control the smile. He was literally laughing. His expression made everyone burst into laughter. Altogether, it created the perfect candid picture for the shoot, just as everyone had expected.
When Buckshot smiles excitedly, the couple couldn’t hold their pose. They also burst into laughter, and which delighted Buckshot even more. In response, he showed an even more hilarious facial expression. Meanwhile, Kristen was busy capturing one of the most memorable photos of her photography career.
